Guilty Pleasures Due to the Writers Strike

With the writers strike going into something like the eighth week, stupid networks have to come up with something. Enter Clash of the Choirs. Now my ex-wife was an outstanding choral director so I know good choral music. This ain't it. But I can't look away. Its a friggin' train wreck and I love it! Some of the music is pretty good (tonight they just did an a capella version of Flight of the Bumblebee which was kind of cool. And well, Patti LaBelle is just fabulous. And the stories are so (sniff, sniff) emotional and heartwarming. It's just what I need at the holidays. Sniff. Sniff. And there's just something intriguing about Blake Shelton. He looks so stupid "conducting" his choir but he's rather adorable in a goofy sort of way. Anyhow, below is Patti LaBelle's choir doing "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands".

Did you notice that the set looks kind of like Family Feud? And I miss Patti's fun hair.

OMG! I thought I was the only who notice that! And yes, yes I do miss her freaked out hair!

At least it's not "I Love New York." That's MY guilty pleasure.

Yeah, I figured the music on this show would just be a screamfest and I don't believe for a minute those celebrities have anything to do with the actual conducting or learning the music. Some poor musical director is behind the scenes doing all the work and the celebs show up when the cameras are on and act like they're doing something. And yes, Blake Shelton is pretty hot.
