And What Kind of Sauce Would Go With That?

Discussing food with my surrogate mother...

Me: So these friends are going to have some stuffed calamari for dinner on Christmas Eve...

Surrogate Mother Type Person: making gagging like noises... Oh God. Calamari.

Me: But they were stuffing them. It's not like they were serving them in rings.

SMTP: Don't even mention the rings. Jesus, it's like eating a little bit of a sphinter when you bite into one of them. Why the hell would people ever serve that to people they supposedly loved?

Oh no, you just gave me a new image for something I already don't like to look at. Agh-h-h!

Sphinter! Ha, ha! Now that is a unique way of looking at it. I don't think I'll ever eat another calamari ring without thinking of her comment.

Happy Holidays!

Ah, yes, eating sphincter--isn't that also called rimming?

True enough, Michael. Yet coming from a middle aged straight woman, I'm not sure rimming has entered her vocabulary. And if it has, I doubt she wants to think of it as an activity that her adopted son engages in... ;-)

Hope you all had a great holiday!
